Unboxing: Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2015

Out of all my beauty box subscriptions, Walmart Beauty Box is the only one that I haven’t cancelled… yet. First, it’s only quarterly and for $5 per quarter, that’s affordable. Second, I am quite satisfied so far with what I have been getting from them.

While I was opening my Fall Beauty Box, I just realized that I didn’t post my Summer Beauty Box! I’m sooo sorry… again. The reason why I remember this was because one of the items here was a repeat from my Summer Beauty Box.

I always enjoy watching and reading unboxing posts of bloggers/vloggers so I equally enjoy doing it myself. I was “playing” with my accessories when I decided to do this so without any further ado, here it is:

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus (full size) retails at $7.97

Neutrogena Healthy Volume (deluxe size) runs at around $19.66 for its full size

Aussie Mega Hairspray (deluxe size) costs $3.74 for a 17 oz. full size

Schick Hydro Silk Disposables are usually in a 3 items per pack. But according to the Walmart’s website, each can cost $3.02.

For a full sized product of Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (2.6 oz), you can buy it for $6.68 at Walmart

For a 150 ml of L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, you can buy it for $9.91

And the foil packs…

Do you want to guess the “repeat” from my Walmart Summer Beauty Box? It’s the Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Gladiolus. For $7.97, it more than pays for the cost of the box. So somehow, I am not disappointed because I can easily give this as a gift to any of my friends.

Though I prefer the aerosol type of Dove deodorants, I can see myself bringing this along when I travel.

I am also looking forward to use the Aussie hair spray because I already tried the Aussie hair conditioner and I liked it.

I am also happy with the Schick razor because I am already planning to buy a new one to replace what I currently have.

For the Neutrogena mascara, of course I’m satisfied with it! It’s makeup!

However, I am quite hesitant in using the Biorรฉ Self Heating One Minute Mask. Heat + face isn’t exactly a good combination for someone like me who has a sensitive skin.

I also have never used a self-tanning lotion before because I don’t think my skin is that fair anyway. Though I’m thinking of using it to contour my face or as a bronzer. Has anyone used the L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion before for the face?

Is anything here a staple on your beauty regimen? Or do you have any bad experience from one or more of these products?

Unboxing: May 2015 Ipsy

I got my second Ipsy bag last Wednesday. The hype is real! It’s all over instagram and I couldn’t wait to get my Ipsy!

The theme for the month is Ipsy Jetsetter.

It’s Desi Perkins! I love her!

But what really excites me is the Ipsy bag I received for the month…

A regular 8.5 by 8.5″ makeup clutch made on faux leather on breakupmakeupshop.com is at $40 . The Ipsy bag is made of sack cloth or hemp.
I got five deluxe sized products and 1 pair of blister pack sample of lip gloss.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil (0.8 grams) is a waterproof lip liner and primer. Full size is at 1.2 grams and costs $20.
Urban Decay High-Color Lipgloss in Failbait and Bittersweet is at $22 each for a 5.1 ml lip gloss.
The Nuxe Rรชve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel (15 ml) is a soap-free cleanser for dry and sensitive skin. At its 6.7 oz. full size, it sells at $19 on Nuxe’s website.
Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in Tantalizing Taupe (0.9 g) is a mechanical eyebrow pencil. At Chella’s website, it is for $18. This one looks full size.
Balanced Guru Style Me Hair Oil (0.5 fl oz) is an organic hair oil. It costs $18.99 for a 1 fl. oz. full size.
Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust (1.8 g) in Brown Sugar is an eye shadow. It costs $4.99 for a full size that weighs 2.5 grams.

There you have it! I can’t wait to try them all! I particularly love the Urban Decay lip pencil to help me with my liquid lipsticks, the Chella Eyebrow Pencil for fleek eyebrows and the adorable bag!

First Glamourbox: unboxing

I just received my first Glamourbox 5 days ago and I have mixed emotions on this. First, it’s a bit more expensive than the BDJ box; Glamourbox is Php595 while BDJ box is Php580. I know that it’s a mere Php15 difference but I was perplexed when I was charged an additional 10-15 pesos on my debit card like I just made an international charge. Well, I didn’t dispute it and just moved on.

So let’s cut the intro and see for yourself if it’s worth Php595 (600-ish for me).

20131209-044737.jpg
The box of Glamourbox is a bit bigger than the BDJ box (must be the Php15 difference, lol)

20131209-045053.jpg
For December, Glamourbox’s theme is “Secret Santa”… I think I was nice the entire year… Really, I am.

20131209-045234.jpg
On the other side of the card is the list of box’s contents

20131209-045334.jpg
Do not be deceived though; read it carefully. The prices are for the full-sized version of the products included on the box. The only full-sized product on the box is the Avon perfume and honestly, I’m quite surprised of its price… a whopping Php1500. Really???

20131209-045713.jpg
I’m not a fan of Avon perfumes but the Only Imagine smells really nice that I might even try using it. I also like the pink and purple packaging and the fluffy purple tutu that I thought was a scoungie.

I also find the necklace from Fabulosa very cute and I think it will look nice to wear on a Christmas party/dinner. It’s a good conversation starter due to its gift-shaped pendant. This is a plus on Glamourbox because I haven’t gotten any kind of jewelry yet from my BDJ box.

20131209-050455.jpg

I’m a fan of liquid bath soaps so I’m happy to get The Cream Factory’s Bath Cream (221ml). But I almost gagged when I first used it due to its overwhelming scent.

20131209-051138.jpg

I’m quite satisfied too with the Holika Holika Pure Mellow Multi Puff; a cute purple dupe of the Beauty Blender’s famous sponge:

20131209-051542.jpg
I also can’t wait to try these 2 samples from Paula’s Choice:

20131209-051748.jpg

I have been using BB cream for a year now instead of the usual L’oreal True Match Foundation that I used before. I would love to try this Holika Holika’s CC cream (I-dont-understand-Korean ml) for a change:

20131209-052625.jpg

And lastly, the only product that I will definitely not use (and that’s because I don’t cook, lol)… Giving it to my mom at this very moment… Zen Zest Kitchen Fragrance in Choco Cappucino (50ml)

20131209-052833.jpg

I would have loved love it if there is a make-up included on the box. Fine, it has the make-up sponge but a lippie inside the box won’t hurt, right?

Lady Echeboreche is a Queen of Extreme

I finally got my October BDJ box! I was completely surprised because I didn’t receive any email that my beauty box was on its way.
20131012-205629.jpg
I was more surprised that I got two boxes! Then, I just died and went to heaven when I saw what’s inside the package. Make-up!
20131012-205850.jpg
After being revived from my sudden death, I opened the 2 boxes thinking that the contents were different from each other, just like the September BDJ box. Then my feeling of elation changed to curiosity when I found out that they are exactly the same. I’m not sure why I got 2 BDJ boxes. I already emailed their customer service to ask why. I received an Out of Office reply saying that they’ll be able to reply to my message on October 17. Let’s wait and see... (Update: Mistake Proofing)

Going back to my October goodies, BDJ box’s theme for this month is “Express Yourself Fearlessly”. Fierce.
20131012-210518.jpg
I like BDJ box’s teasers. For this month, their teaser is “Which Type of Girl Are You?”. My friend and I were having a hard time guessing what products we’re going to get for October. Well, it’s a wonderful mind-game and I never imagined that we’ll be receiving Maybelline products. But I did tell my friend that it got something to do with make-up. T’was a lovely surprise! I am quite a make-up junkie (and I had to laugh so hard when BDJ thinks I’m the Queen of Extreme. Because I am, *wink*).

The box for this month consists exclusively of Maybelline products. The boxes are of 6 variants and I got the Queen of Extreme. So far, I saw 2 other types in instagram; Wild Thing and Femme Fatale. Others have different mascaras & lippies. Some have different eye makeup.

So to my fellow royal beauties, here are my Maybelline haul fit for a Queen of Extreme:

20131012-212410.jpg

20131012-212437.jpg

20131012-212452.jpg
I am particularly excited with the Volum’ Express Rocket mascara because I read a lot of good reviews about it and it is one of their new products.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a BDJ box if it doesn’t have a voucher. Plus, they also included a Maybelline Card:

20131012-212932.jpg

I always get my money’s worth with my BDJ boxes. Total value of all the products is Php 1973 (I don’t know how much a Maybelline make-up remover is so the voucher’s price is not included). For all of these, I only paid Php 580 on their website. So that’s Php 1393 worth of free goodies! ๐Ÿ˜

Can’t wait to try them all! โค๏ธ
