Unboxing: Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2015

Out of all my beauty box subscriptions, Walmart Beauty Box is the only one that I haven’t cancelled… yet. First, it’s only quarterly and for $5 per quarter, that’s affordable. Second, I am quite satisfied so far with what I have been getting from them.

While I was opening my Fall Beauty Box, I just realized that I didn’t post my Summer Beauty Box! I’m sooo sorry… again. The reason why I remember this was because one of the items here was a repeat from my Summer Beauty Box.

I always enjoy watching and reading unboxing posts of bloggers/vloggers so I equally enjoy doing it myself. I was “playing” with my accessories when I decided to do this so without any further ado, here it is:

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus (full size) retails at $7.97

Neutrogena Healthy Volume (deluxe size) runs at around $19.66 for its full size

Aussie Mega Hairspray (deluxe size) costs $3.74 for a 17 oz. full size

Schick Hydro Silk Disposables are usually in a 3 items per pack. But according to the Walmart’s website, each can cost $3.02.

For a full sized product of Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (2.6 oz), you can buy it for $6.68 at Walmart

For a 150 ml of L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, you can buy it for $9.91

And the foil packs…

Do you want to guess the “repeat” from my Walmart Summer Beauty Box? It’s the Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Gladiolus. For $7.97, it more than pays for the cost of the box. So somehow, I am not disappointed because I can easily give this as a gift to any of my friends.

Though I prefer the aerosol type of Dove deodorants, I can see myself bringing this along when I travel.

I am also looking forward to use the Aussie hair spray because I already tried the Aussie hair conditioner and I liked it.

I am also happy with the Schick razor because I am already planning to buy a new one to replace what I currently have.

For the Neutrogena mascara, of course I’m satisfied with it! It’s makeup!

However, I am quite hesitant in using the Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask. Heat + face isn’t exactly a good combination for someone like me who has a sensitive skin.

I also have never used a self-tanning lotion before because I don’t think my skin is that fair anyway. Though I’m thinking of using it to contour my face or as a bronzer. Has anyone used the L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion before for the face?

Is anything here a staple on your beauty regimen? Or do you have any bad experience from one or more of these products?

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

I have always been a fan of Revlon. There was a time that almost all of the make-up and beauty tools that I was using were from Revlon.

So I was excited to know that they have this new lipstick that a lot of people are liking very much.

The REVLON ULTRA HD lipstick is described on their website as,

Revolutionary wax-free gel technology for true color clarity in one smooth swipe. Available in 20 high-definition shades.”

They got me with the “Revolutionary”! Revolutionary Revlon, why not!

I bought my first Revlon Ultra HD lipstick at Walmart for $7.97 while the other 2 are from Target for $7.99 each.

I love the transparent cap for it makes it easier for me to see the shade of the lipstick. But personally, I don’t like square lipstick caps because I tend to hit the lipstick bullet trying to figure out how to close or open it. It messes up the cap and the holder of the lipstick bullet. But then again, I’m also a bit of a klutz and probably didn’t do well with the shape sorter toys when I was a kid, lol.

This is my first Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick from Walmart
Orchid is a vibrant yet very wearable pink
Petunia is brownish red and is very pigmented.

My recent purchase, Primrose, is a perfect MLBB.

I find that all of them are very hydrating to my lips. Orchid is the most sheer among the three of them while Petunia is the most pigmented.

They wear off easily like a normal lipstick when you eat or drink but Petunia leaves a good faded color on the lips.

The consistency when it comes to re-application after it has faded is not the same. I find that the Petunia is the best among the three.

I obviously have all the praises for Petunia, my first lipstick from the collection, that’s why I opted to buy the other shades.

I’m thinking of buying two more of these lipsticks, Dahlia and Iris, based from what I saw from their website.

What do you think? Have you ever tried Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks before?

My Ulta Mini Haul and Gran Turismo

Weird title, right?

It started with not being able to watch Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Another weird connection.

The AMC Theater is near Ulta so I asked my husband if we can go there instead. I have purchased from Ulta’s website before but I haven’t been to their actual brick-and-mortar store.

But it was only for $36.53… with tax!
The first thing that I saw was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. So did I get it?

Nah… My goal was to get any drugstore make-up. The cheaper, the better.

I always wanted a new blush so I got this from Physicians Formula because of the great reviews that I’ve seen so far:

Physicians Formula blushes are so pretty! This retails at $12.99.
I already have a Physicians Formula blush that I also love…

Bought this one at Target… Love Love Love the design!
The  next goal is to buy tweezers (that I thought I already bought at Target. Read my booboo here).

I’m loving the Revlon Marchesa beauty tools lately. This pair of tweezers is $10.49.
But then I saw an equally cute nail clipper, so I picked it up too…

Revlon Marchesa Nail Clipper for $4.99

Honestly, I already have cute old nail clippers and tweezers, and are still usable, but I just like the Marchesa designs of Revlon that I couldn’t resist buying them…

My old but pretty nail clipper
My old but sexy tweezers… woot woot!

And of course, I couldn’t go anywhere else without buying a lipstick…

NYX Matte Lipstick in Whipped Caviar for $5.99

Nyx Matte Lipstick in Whipped Caviar got me whipped!
Whipped Caviar swatch… possibly my new MLBB

So where is Gran Turismo? Well, when my husband saw that I bought make-up, he said he’ll buy something for himself too.

He bought Gran Turismo for his PS3 because he said it can help me learn how to drive too…

I am a driver noob
I don’t know about thaaaat but I thought it was sweet so I volunteered to wait for the game to install while he sleeps (as he has an army training tomorrow).

Why I’m blogging at midnight…
The things you can do for love. 😂❤️

Target Haul: not the #lillyfortarget one…

I did a haul last Saturday for some beauty products, jammies, ballet flats and stuff that I can use to start working out.

And I’ve been a bad girl because I did get over my head because it cost me more than $200 for the haul which was beyond my budget.

So here are the results of my sin…

The Workout Clothes

2 Sports Bra for $16.99 each
I need high support all right! Insert hashtag #8ProblemsBustyWomenCanRelateTo

2 Workout Pants for $14.99 each

3 Workout Long-sleeves Top for $14.99 each
It’s still a bit chilly and windy outside and for the other warmer days, these ones are still good because they have this jersey style outline on the back.

Now here comes the cute stuff!

Ballet Flats for $9.99
These flats are the cutest! And cheap! They’re on clearance sale and they used to be $19.99

2 Jammies for $14.99 each
The prints on these jammies are so adorable! The purple one is called “Whale Tail” while the green one is called “Hipster Pig”. So cute!

The Beauty Haul

Storage Organizer for $9.99
I’m thinking of putting this inside the drawer of my vanity table.

Revlon’s Marchesa Nail File for $4.89
I need one…and I still can’t afford a Marchesa dress… and I love purple. Justified!

Revlon’s Marchesa Cuticle Trimming Tool for $10.29
I might return this one. I honestly thought it was a pair of tweezers. I already have a cuticle nipper that is also from Revlon, the usual scissor type one, so I won’t need this. Tsk tsk, got blinded by the cuteness and didn’t see anything else. The TV series “Brain Games” call it Inattentional Blindness. I call it Blinded By Its Beauty.😅

Instant Cuticle Remover for $3.99

Sally Hansen’s Base & Top Coat for $3.99

Sally Hansen’s Nail Polish in “Pink Pong” shade for $4.99
The purchase of these nail products basically tells you that my husband can’t find the reason in spending $$$ for a professional manicure-pedicure. Argh! Back in the Philippines, I have my own personal “nail technician” that goes to my house to do my nails twice a month. How I miss those times!

And guess what? I only have 2 make-up products on this haul! How sad…

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Orchid for $7.99
I love love this Ultra HD Lipsticks! I already got the “Petunia” shade and I find it super pigmented and moisturizing on my lips.

Revlon Eyeshadow in “Not Just Nudes” for $5.99
My first eyeshadow palette that I purchased using my hard-earned money was from Revlon so I guess it’s time to buy a new one after 9 years! I’m not an expert in putting eye make-up so I usually don’t bother putting some but I read somewhere that this palette is one of their must-haves.

So for my body and face…

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for $10.79
I already used up my Cerave Cream so I might as well try another body cream for sensitive skin. It was also highly recommended by a friend who lives in California.
Simple Cleansing Micellar Water for $6.99
This is heaven sent! I’m almost done with the first bottle so it’s time to buy another one. It doesn’t sting at all and it effectively removes make-up. It’s beyond perfection!

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash for $5.99
Because of my undying love to the Simple Micellar Water, I thought of trying this one too.

So there you go. It might not be the Lilly Pulitzer for Target haul that people want to see these days but I might say it’s worth every penny. Seriously, the only reason why I didn’t join the craze yesterday was because I didn’t know. But then again, I’m not the flowery, pastel type anyway. But then again, I might just be feeling bitter. 😂

What’s in your make-up kit?

The evolution of my make-up kit all started with simply bringing baby powder when I was in grade school… Then came the lip gloss in high school… Then lipstick when I turned 18…

Now that I’m at the “right” age *wink*, here’s my make-up kit that I bring everyday at work:

❤️ Stella & Dot pouch (a gift)

20131023-092652.jpg

20131023-092747.jpg
Isn’t this a good way to start your day?

20131023-092914.jpg
So cute, right? Just answer “hey!!!” as you raise your hands in the air before you put on your make-up (not that I do that *ehem*)

So what’s inside this pouch?

❤️ Human Nature Mineral Powder in Orient Pearl
– I buy a lot of Human Nature products because they don’t have harmful ingredients, are cruelty-free and are proudly made in the Philippines

20131023-093617.jpg

❤️ Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder
– I use it mostly as a mirror because it is a lot bigger than my HN powder and I love the packaging

20131023-093758.jpg

❤️ 3 concealers
1) Mary Kay concealer/corrector in Ivory 1
2) Maybelline BB Stick (that I use as a concealer) in 01 Fresh – I don’t like the smell of the product on the tube but that smell disappears as soon as you apply it to your face and it goes on smoothly due to its powdery finish
3) Max Factor Pan Foundation (as a concealer) in Olive 30

20131023-094503.jpg

❤️ 2 Powder Blush
1) Maybelline Cheeky Glow in Peachy Sweetie
2) Human Nature Mineral Blush in Pink Bloom

20131023-094659.jpg
It takes 2-3 reapplication for the HN blush to show color as it is not too pigmented for my skin tone. I’m currently searching for a new blush.

20131023-095022.jpg

❤️ Revlon Eyelash Curler
– my ever dependable curler that I have to let go soon (huhuhu)… I’m just waiting for the Shu Uemura eyelash curler that I recently ordered (woohoo!)

20131023-095427.jpg

❤️ 2 eyeliners
1) Maybelline HyperSharp Liner (liquid) – that I use for my upper lid
2) Maybelline master liner (pencil) – that I use for my lower lid but I’m still getting the hang of it because I’m used to liquid eyeliner

20131023-095811.jpg

❤️ 3 mascaras
1) Maybelline The Falsies
2) Maybelline The Rocket
3) Benefit They’re Real

20131023-100008.jpg

20131023-100018.jpg

❤️ Cover Girl Pencil Crayon for the eyebrows (Please see my pseudo review on this article)

20131023-100420.jpg

❤️ 2 lip balm
1) Etude Kissful Lip Care in Cherry
2) Maybelline Baby Lips in Neon Rose

20131023-100725.jpg

20131023-100733.jpg

❤️ 9 lippies
1) Human Nature in Lucky In Love
2) Mary Kay in Caramel Toffee
3) Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in Fashionista
4) Maybelline in Coral Crush
5) Nyx in Monte Carlo
6) Nyx in Addis Ababa
7) Mac Mattene Lipstick in Eden Rouge
8) Mac Lustre in Marquis D’
9) Mac Retro Matte in Riri Woo

20131023-101407.jpg
Please bear with me as I’m a noob in making lipstick swatches. I made several attempts and most of them looked like I had a bad case of hives on my arm. Here’s the most “decent” of them all:

20131023-102051.jpg

❤️ Hello Kitty lip gloss
– that I don’t use. It’s cute, nuff said 😊

20131023-102251.jpg
