Unboxing: Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2015

Out of all my beauty box subscriptions, Walmart Beauty Box is the only one that I haven’t cancelled… yet. First, it’s only quarterly and for $5 per quarter, that’s affordable. Second, I am quite satisfied so far with what I have been getting from them.

While I was opening my Fall Beauty Box, I just realized that I didn’t post my Summer Beauty Box! I’m sooo sorry… again. The reason why I remember this was because one of the items here was a repeat from my Summer Beauty Box.

I always enjoy watching and reading unboxing posts of bloggers/vloggers so I equally enjoy doing it myself. I was “playing” with my accessories when I decided to do this so without any further ado, here it is:

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus (full size) retails at $7.97
Neutrogena Healthy Volume (deluxe size) runs at around $19.66 for its full size
Aussie Mega Hairspray (deluxe size) costs $3.74 for a 17 oz. full size
Schick Hydro Silk Disposables are usually in a 3 items per pack. But according to the Walmart’s website, each can cost $3.02.
For a full sized product of Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (2.6 oz), you can buy it for $6.68 at Walmart
For a 150 ml of L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, you can buy it for $9.91

And the foil packs…

Do you want to guess the “repeat” from my Walmart Summer Beauty Box? It’s the Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Gladiolus. For $7.97, it more than pays for the cost of the box. So somehow, I am not disappointed because I can easily give this as a gift to any of my friends.

Though I prefer the aerosol type of Dove deodorants, I can see myself bringing this along when I travel.

I am also looking forward to use the Aussie hair spray because I already tried the Aussie hair conditioner and I liked it.

I am also happy with the Schick razor because I am already planning to buy a new one to replace what I currently have.

For the Neutrogena mascara, of course I’m satisfied with it! It’s makeup!

However, I am quite hesitant in using the Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask. Heat + face isn’t exactly a good combination for someone like me who has a sensitive skin.

I also have never used a self-tanning lotion before because I don’t think my skin is that fair anyway. Though I’m thinking of using it to contour my face or as a bronzer. Has anyone used the L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion before for the face?

Is anything here a staple on your beauty regimen? Or do you have any bad experience from one or more of these products?

Unboxing: June 2015 Birchbox

I was disappointed with last month’s Birchbox. Honestly, I just resubscribed because I finally got my free Beautyblender sponge.

So I didn’t expect too much this month…

Each box this month has a unique code that you can use to enter on wherein you can get discounts, points and other goodies.

This looks promising. There are 6 products all in all.

Two of my least favorite colors: Pink and Orange. But they do look good for summer so I can see past that.

I absolutely love this! This is the “lifestyle extra” included in my box this month. I have thin hair and this clip can hold all of my hair into a bun for that easy-I-dont-care-wearing-my-PJs hairstyle. I know you’re supposed to use this for sectioning when your styling your hair but so far, what I thought of is the most practical one.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel

First sentence on the “Directions”… “This is not a mask.” Fiiiine, snappy much!? 😅 It says on the box that it is an acid-free peel that you massage to your face until small bead-like dead skin forms. This reminds me so much of this Japanese product, Cure Natural Aqua Gel, that I got on my September 2013 BDJ Box (a subscription box in the Philippines).

Supergoop! Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology

That name is a mouthful! But I appreciate sunscreen products anytime! Supergoop is popular for their sunscreen products so I am looking forward in bringing this to my trip to California next month.

Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner

Because everyone needs an indigo eyeliner when they’re swimming…

Joie Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum

Even if I don’t know how to pronounce this product, I still like perfume samples so this is a thumbs-up for me.

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow

I thought it was too dark for my skin but it blended well on the back of my hand as I was swatching it so let’s see when I use this on my face.

Overall Impression

So, am I saying YES to June 2015 Birchbox? Yes, I’m satisfied. I can see myself trying everything on this box.

Unboxing: BH Cosmetics Mini Haul

Remember my post about the BH Cosmetics promo? I got what I ordered online around two weeks ago but something else was needed to be announced urgently that day (aka the Too Faced Sale post) so this unboxing has been moved today.

BH Cosmetics has been popular for some time now in YouTube and several blogs. They are affordable and offer a lot of options especially with their eyeshadow palettes. So when they offered free shipping and free palette, it was time for me to board the ship!

Special Occasion 39 Color Eyeshadow & Blush Palette

I am in love with this palette! The blush palette already has highlighter and bronzer. The blushes are all pigmented and wearable.

The eyeshadow portion has matte and shimmer. I can see myself creating different looks out of these, from daytime to nighttime make-up.

First Edition – 120 Eyeshadow Palette

1 out of 120 was broken
Honestly, I was overwhelmed with all these colors! Some of them quite look alike but I haven’t tried them yet so I will leave my final judgment on a later post, with swatches and make-up looks.

The Mystery Eyeshadow Palette: BH Party Girl After Hours

I intentionally did not open this yet. I checked the YouTube first and images online. I think the Special Occasion will suffice so I’m thinking of giving this to my niece.

The Pocket Damage

Not so damaging at all…

So that’s my first BH Cosmetics haul. I will try to post their swatches and some looks that an eyeshadow noob like me can cook up. 😅😅😅

Unboxing: May 2015 Birchbox

I received my second Birchbox last week but I was a bit underwhelmed so I hesitated if it’s worth my time to make a post about it… Harsh, right?!

After opening the Birchbox for May 2015…

Originally, I cancelled my subscription but they offered a great deal that if you resubscribed, you will get a Beautyblender sponge and cleanser. So for $10, of course I did!

It got me…

I got my Birchbox last May 22 but as of today, I haven’t received the free gift yet.

So here are the samples for the Birchbox May 2015. Be the judge…

Dr. Jart Premium BB cream for the face

Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Oil Treatment for the hair

Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing for the face and neck

W3ll People The Expressionist Bio Extreme Mascara

Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask

I can’t wait for the beautyblender freebies!

So what can you say?

Pout your lips as you conquer the world. 💋🌍

Unboxing: May 2015 Boxycharm

With my insta-stalking, I found out about Boxycharm. At first, I hesitated because it costs $21, that’s like Ipsy and Birchbox plus a dollar combined. But when I saw that the last month’s Boxycharm consisted of one whole eyeshadow palette, I was like…

source image:
Well well well… there was no eyeshadow palette this month. But I wasn’t at all disappointed! I love everything, absolutely everything, in this box!

That moment when you want to play with your toys in the most acceptable way for a woman of a certain age…
…but decided to break the rules! lol! Kitty is just happy for me that for $21, I got $98 worth of items!

So what am I all excited about? Let’s see…

ModelCo Bronze Shimmer for $22.00 (full size).
I am currently using only one bronzer, The Balm’s Bahama Mama. I’ve got no complaints with that but I’m also willing to try new ones. It’s makeup, be adventurous.

The Lip Bar lipstick is for $20.
I adore the packaging! It may not fit on my lipstick organizer (check my post here), but I don’t care! I will put this together with my other make-up stash.

The shade is called Purple Rain. Purple is one of my two favorite colors besides Blue.
Didn’t I say I am smitten with their packaging! kissy kissy lips 💋

Bodyography Essential Brow Trio for $19 (full size)
I am always on a lookout for the best eyebrow pencil/shadow for me. Why? I am not blessed with good eyebrows plus I got in with the 90s trend of overplucking them. If you want to see what I mean, check my post about this.

Bodyography Brow Brush for $19.
It is pretty marvelous when you got something from your subscription boxes that you actually NEED. Besides using this with the Bodyography Essential Brow Trio, I can definitely use this too with my other eyebrow powder.

Lauren B. Beauty Nail Polish for $18 (full size)
I left all, as in ALL, of my nail polish bottles and nail stickers at my parents’ house. So this nude, called “Sunset Tower”, is a good addition to my almost non-existing collection of nail products here in the US. But what I love about this is that it’s vegan, Cruelty-Free and a nice basic color to compliment the purple lipstick included here in the box.

It was truly a good first impression for my first Boxycharm. I can’t wait for what’s in store for me next month.

Unboxing: Macy’s Beauty Products Mini Haul

I got a $10 Macy’s Rewards Card last month so I had to use it, right?

Total damage: $58.83 ($3.33 tax)

What’s in the “goody bag”?

Perfume samples.

Drum roll, please…

Mac satin lipstick for $16

Originally, I just wanted to get a Mac lipstick so that I can get it for only $6 because of my $10 Rewards Card. But my hubby has no time to take me to the mall so I have to resort to my favorite hobby: online shopping!

Isn’t that the perfect nude lipstick for Spring?!

Clinique Spring Into Colour set for $39.50

…with a $101.00 value! A steal!

Their name sounds yummy!

All together now!

Clinique has this promo for Spring that for every $27 worth of purchase, you’ll get this 7-piece gift worth $70 for FREE!!! Love love freebies!

I always want to try this!

So pretty!

More more toys to play with!!! ❤️

First Glamourbox: unboxing

I just received my first Glamourbox 5 days ago and I have mixed emotions on this. First, it’s a bit more expensive than the BDJ box; Glamourbox is Php595 while BDJ box is Php580. I know that it’s a mere Php15 difference but I was perplexed when I was charged an additional 10-15 pesos on my debit card like I just made an international charge. Well, I didn’t dispute it and just moved on.

So let’s cut the intro and see for yourself if it’s worth Php595 (600-ish for me).

The box of Glamourbox is a bit bigger than the BDJ box (must be the Php15 difference, lol)

For December, Glamourbox’s theme is “Secret Santa”… I think I was nice the entire year… Really, I am.

On the other side of the card is the list of box’s contents

Do not be deceived though; read it carefully. The prices are for the full-sized version of the products included on the box. The only full-sized product on the box is the Avon perfume and honestly, I’m quite surprised of its price… a whopping Php1500. Really???

I’m not a fan of Avon perfumes but the Only Imagine smells really nice that I might even try using it. I also like the pink and purple packaging and the fluffy purple tutu that I thought was a scoungie.

I also find the necklace from Fabulosa very cute and I think it will look nice to wear on a Christmas party/dinner. It’s a good conversation starter due to its gift-shaped pendant. This is a plus on Glamourbox because I haven’t gotten any kind of jewelry yet from my BDJ box.

I’m a fan of liquid bath soaps so I’m happy to get The Cream Factory’s Bath Cream (221ml). But I almost gagged when I first used it due to its overwhelming scent.

I’m quite satisfied too with the Holika Holika Pure Mellow Multi Puff; a cute purple dupe of the Beauty Blender’s famous sponge:

I also can’t wait to try these 2 samples from Paula’s Choice:

I have been using BB cream for a year now instead of the usual L’oreal True Match Foundation that I used before. I would love to try this Holika Holika’s CC cream (I-dont-understand-Korean ml) for a change:

And lastly, the only product that I will definitely not use (and that’s because I don’t cook, lol)… Giving it to my mom at this very moment… Zen Zest Kitchen Fragrance in Choco Cappucino (50ml)

I would have loved love it if there is a make-up included on the box. Fine, it has the make-up sponge but a lippie inside the box won’t hurt, right?

Lady Echeboreche is a Queen of Extreme

I finally got my October BDJ box! I was completely surprised because I didn’t receive any email that my beauty box was on its way.
I was more surprised that I got two boxes! Then, I just died and went to heaven when I saw what’s inside the package. Make-up!
After being revived from my sudden death, I opened the 2 boxes thinking that the contents were different from each other, just like the September BDJ box. Then my feeling of elation changed to curiosity when I found out that they are exactly the same. I’m not sure why I got 2 BDJ boxes. I already emailed their customer service to ask why. I received an Out of Office reply saying that they’ll be able to reply to my message on October 17. Let’s wait and see... (Update: Mistake Proofing)

Going back to my October goodies, BDJ box’s theme for this month is “Express Yourself Fearlessly”. Fierce.
I like BDJ box’s teasers. For this month, their teaser is “Which Type of Girl Are You?”. My friend and I were having a hard time guessing what products we’re going to get for October. Well, it’s a wonderful mind-game and I never imagined that we’ll be receiving Maybelline products. But I did tell my friend that it got something to do with make-up. T’was a lovely surprise! I am quite a make-up junkie (and I had to laugh so hard when BDJ thinks I’m the Queen of Extreme. Because I am, *wink*).

The box for this month consists exclusively of Maybelline products. The boxes are of 6 variants and I got the Queen of Extreme. So far, I saw 2 other types in instagram; Wild Thing and Femme Fatale. Others have different mascaras & lippies. Some have different eye makeup.

So to my fellow royal beauties, here are my Maybelline haul fit for a Queen of Extreme:

I am particularly excited with the Volum’ Express Rocket mascara because I read a lot of good reviews about it and it is one of their new products.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a BDJ box if it doesn’t have a voucher. Plus, they also included a Maybelline Card:

I always get my money’s worth with my BDJ boxes. Total value of all the products is Php 1973 (I don’t know how much a Maybelline make-up remover is so the voucher’s price is not included). For all of these, I only paid Php 580 on their website. So that’s Php 1393 worth of free goodies! 😍

Can’t wait to try them all! ❤️

Unboxing of my first BDJ box (August BDJ box)

– posted it first on my tumblr account

I received my August BDJ box on September due to the bad weather so I was really excited when it was delivered to my house on a Sunday morning.

It’s a Shiseido box! I got “deluxe” sized products (aka samples) from their new Ibuki line.

I gave away 3 of these stickers to my officemates.

I personally used 6 out of 8 of these products:

I gave these 2 to my mom:

20131007-101937.jpg I decided to take a picture of each item beside the price of the product (regular size) just so I’ll know how much I’ll shell out if the product works for me. 👍 Well so far I love the products that I’ve tried. They all smell really great; talk about luxurious but not overpowering.
My favorites are:
❤️ Eye and Lip Makeup Remover – it is not oily so it doesn’t cause any breakouts. One drop is enough to remove makeup easily and it makes my face soft and clean.
❤️ Eye Correcting Cream – I dap a few of this cream around my eye, focusing on my undereye, before I put on my BB cream and my concealer. I honestly think that it really lessens the darkness around my eyes! I’m no longer a panda! A raccoon! I’m ME! (lol) My exaggerated reaction is due to the fact that my dark undereye has always been my dilemma. Sometimes, genetic sucks 😜

Major hesitation though in buying my favorites is their price. I don’t know if I’ll spend thousands (chi-ching chi-ching) for these products. Still thinking about it though…
