I Have Too Much Makeup. Said No One. Ever.

The title of this post is based on the meme that I have been seeing all over instagram for the past few months.

I can relate. I get it. I absolutely agree! My husband said I have too much lipsticks. I am like, “what are you talking about?” 😅

Since I was in hiatus all throughout summer, this will be my “Hello, October! Hi, Fall!” to everyone. Let me show you all the make-up I bought when I wasn’t blogging (that I can remember, ha!). They are not a lot but I like the feeling of the sudden euphoria when I was buying them. 😍

I’m Lady Echeboreche. I’m a makeup addict.

Unboxing: May 2015 Ipsy

I got my second Ipsy bag last Wednesday. The hype is real! It’s all over instagram and I couldn’t wait to get my Ipsy!

The theme for the month is Ipsy Jetsetter.

It’s Desi Perkins! I love her!

But what really excites me is the Ipsy bag I received for the month…

A regular 8.5 by 8.5″ makeup clutch made on faux leather on breakupmakeupshop.com is at $40 . The Ipsy bag is made of sack cloth or hemp.
I got five deluxe sized products and 1 pair of blister pack sample of lip gloss.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil (0.8 grams) is a waterproof lip liner and primer. Full size is at 1.2 grams and costs $20.
Urban Decay High-Color Lipgloss in Failbait and Bittersweet is at $22 each for a 5.1 ml lip gloss.
The Nuxe Rêve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel (15 ml) is a soap-free cleanser for dry and sensitive skin. At its 6.7 oz. full size, it sells at $19 on Nuxe’s website.
Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in Tantalizing Taupe (0.9 g) is a mechanical eyebrow pencil. At Chella’s website, it is for $18. This one looks full size.
Balanced Guru Style Me Hair Oil (0.5 fl oz) is an organic hair oil. It costs $18.99 for a 1 fl. oz. full size.
Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust (1.8 g) in Brown Sugar is an eye shadow. It costs $4.99 for a full size that weighs 2.5 grams.

There you have it! I can’t wait to try them all! I particularly love the Urban Decay lip pencil to help me with my liquid lipsticks, the Chella Eyebrow Pencil for fleek eyebrows and the adorable bag!

What’s in your make-up kit?

The evolution of my make-up kit all started with simply bringing baby powder when I was in grade school… Then came the lip gloss in high school… Then lipstick when I turned 18…

Now that I’m at the “right” age *wink*, here’s my make-up kit that I bring everyday at work:

❤️ Stella & Dot pouch (a gift)

20131023-092652.jpg

20131023-092747.jpg
Isn’t this a good way to start your day?

20131023-092914.jpg
So cute, right? Just answer “hey!!!” as you raise your hands in the air before you put on your make-up (not that I do that *ehem*)

So what’s inside this pouch?

❤️ Human Nature Mineral Powder in Orient Pearl
– I buy a lot of Human Nature products because they don’t have harmful ingredients, are cruelty-free and are proudly made in the Philippines

20131023-093617.jpg

❤️ Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder
– I use it mostly as a mirror because it is a lot bigger than my HN powder and I love the packaging

20131023-093758.jpg

❤️ 3 concealers
1) Mary Kay concealer/corrector in Ivory 1
2) Maybelline BB Stick (that I use as a concealer) in 01 Fresh – I don’t like the smell of the product on the tube but that smell disappears as soon as you apply it to your face and it goes on smoothly due to its powdery finish
3) Max Factor Pan Foundation (as a concealer) in Olive 30

20131023-094503.jpg

❤️ 2 Powder Blush
1) Maybelline Cheeky Glow in Peachy Sweetie
2) Human Nature Mineral Blush in Pink Bloom

20131023-094659.jpg
It takes 2-3 reapplication for the HN blush to show color as it is not too pigmented for my skin tone. I’m currently searching for a new blush.

20131023-095022.jpg

❤️ Revlon Eyelash Curler
– my ever dependable curler that I have to let go soon (huhuhu)… I’m just waiting for the Shu Uemura eyelash curler that I recently ordered (woohoo!)

20131023-095427.jpg

❤️ 2 eyeliners
1) Maybelline HyperSharp Liner (liquid) – that I use for my upper lid
2) Maybelline master liner (pencil) – that I use for my lower lid but I’m still getting the hang of it because I’m used to liquid eyeliner

20131023-095811.jpg

❤️ 3 mascaras
1) Maybelline The Falsies
2) Maybelline The Rocket
3) Benefit They’re Real

20131023-100008.jpg

20131023-100018.jpg

❤️ Cover Girl Pencil Crayon for the eyebrows (Please see my pseudo review on this article)

20131023-100420.jpg

❤️ 2 lip balm
1) Etude Kissful Lip Care in Cherry
2) Maybelline Baby Lips in Neon Rose

20131023-100725.jpg

20131023-100733.jpg

❤️ 9 lippies
1) Human Nature in Lucky In Love
2) Mary Kay in Caramel Toffee
3) Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in Fashionista
4) Maybelline in Coral Crush
5) Nyx in Monte Carlo
6) Nyx in Addis Ababa
7) Mac Mattene Lipstick in Eden Rouge
8) Mac Lustre in Marquis D’
9) Mac Retro Matte in Riri Woo

Please bear with me as I’m a noob in making lipstick swatches. I made several attempts and most of them looked like I had a bad case of hives on my arm. Here’s the most “decent” of them all:

20131023-102051.jpg

❤️ Hello Kitty lip gloss
– that I don’t use. It’s cute, nuff said 😊

So what’s in your make-up kit?

Review: Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder

I bought this because of its packaging. Yeah, I can really be that shallow. 😜 First and foremost, I like color purple so that’s a big check. I also find the intricate silver design on the cover very interesting so I will pretty much reuse the container.

20131013-003241.jpg
Probably the most expensive powder that I have, it’s worth Php 1500; bought it from a US-based online seller. So the question is, does it “de-slick and mattify” my face? For me, it’s not that consistent. Sometimes, it does. Sometimes, it doesn’t. Probably it’s not meant for a very humid weather like the Philippines. I tried applying it on top of a Maybelline pressed powder that was already on my face. It was not a good idea because it made my face cakey. I do not recommend applying another layer of it on your face especially on top of another powder because it really has the tendency to be cakey (though it is suggested on the packaging).

I read some reviews that it’s best to use a brush instead of the puff included on the product. I totally agree with that because the puff is quite flimsy and using a brush will spread the product more evenly. Even though it is translucent (best for all complexion), it is best to apply it thinly to avoid making it cakey (for the nth time).😜

Good side, I like the minty scent. It’s a bit relaxing.
So there you go, I like the packaging and its scent. But not a good buy for me for Php 1500.
