I just received an exciting email a few hours ago about the new collection of MAC (Make-Up Art Cosmetics).
It is colorful and vivacious! Gotta have some!
The packaging is a wonderful reminder of summer! Give me some piña colada, please!
I try to restrain myself, aka, my credit card so I ONLY ordered two products. It was a total of $44.52 inclusive of tax and without shipping fee (jump high!).
The other shades are Creme d’Nude (which was sold out after a few minutes, gah!), Morange and Steam Heat.
I feel ecstatic with this! I haven’t bought any Mac blush yet and I’m dying to have one. The other shade of the blush is Crisp Whites. Cute name, isn’t it!
I have disappointed myself before for waiting for some time to purchase limited edition MAC products. This time around, I went ahead and dived in before they all got sold out. I don’t want to be left washed out and dried again, eh.
The Mac Wash & Dry collection will be available in stores on May 21, 2015.
With my insta-stalking, I found out about Boxycharm. At first, I hesitated because it costs $21, that’s like Ipsy and Birchbox plus a dollar combined. But when I saw that the last month’s Boxycharm consisted of one whole eyeshadow palette, I was like…
Well well well… there was no eyeshadow palette this month. But I wasn’t at all disappointed! I love everything, absolutely everything, in this box!
So what am I all excited about? Let’s see…
I am currently using only onebronzer, The Balm’s Bahama Mama. I’ve got no complaints with that but I’m also willing to try new ones. It’s makeup, be adventurous.
I adore the packaging! It may not fit on my lipstick organizer (check my post here), but I don’t care! I will put this together with my other make-up stash.
I am always on a lookout for the best eyebrow pencil/shadow for me. Why? I am not blessed with good eyebrows plus I got in with the 90s trend of overplucking them. If you want to see what I mean, check my post about this.
It is pretty marvelous when you got something from your subscription boxes that you actually NEED. Besides using this with the Bodyography Essential Brow Trio, I can definitely use this too with my other eyebrow powder.
I left all, as in ALL, of my nail polish bottles and nail stickers at my parents’ house. So this nude, called “Sunset Tower”, is a good addition to my almost non-existing collection of nail products here in the US. But what I love about this is that it’s vegan, Cruelty-Free and a nice basic color to compliment the purple lipstick included here in the box.
It was truly a good first impression for my first Boxycharm. I can’t wait for what’s in store for me next month.
I have always been a fan of Revlon. There was a time that almost all of the make-up and beauty tools that I was using were from Revlon.
So I was excited to know that they have this new lipstick that a lot of people are liking very much.
The REVLON ULTRA HD lipstick is described on their website as,
“Revolutionary wax-free gel technology for true color clarity in one smooth swipe. Available in 20 high-definition shades.”
They got me with the “Revolutionary”! Revolutionary Revlon, why not!
I bought my first Revlon Ultra HD lipstick at Walmart for $7.97 while the other 2 are from Target for $7.99 each.
I love the transparent cap for it makes it easier for me to see the shade of the lipstick. But personally, I don’t like square lipstick caps because I tend to hit the lipstick bullet trying to figure out how to close or open it. It messes up the cap and the holder of the lipstick bullet. But then again, I’m also a bit of a klutz and probably didn’t do well with the shape sorter toys when I was a kid, lol.
I find that all of them are very hydrating to my lips. Orchid is the most sheer among the three of them while Petunia is the most pigmented.
They wear off easily like a normal lipstick when you eat or drink but Petunia leaves a good faded color on the lips.
The consistency when it comes to re-application after it has faded is not the same. I find that the Petunia is the best among the three.
I obviously have all the praises for Petunia, my first lipstick from the collection, that’s why I opted to buy the other shades.
I’m thinking of buying two more of these lipsticks, Dahlia and Iris, based from what I saw from their website.
What do you think? Have you ever tried Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks before?
I left a lot of my clothes, shoes and bags when I moved here in the US. I miss my stuff but I didn’t want to spend a lot on airport baggage fees.
To simply put it, I need clothes. I can live, for now, with the bags and shoes that I have. So far, to shop for clothes, I already went to Macy’s, JCPenney, Kohl’s and Gap. I couldn’t bring myself from shopping too much because I don’t have a job yet. But with the clothes that I bought recently, I find myself choosing more “classic” designs and less trendy. Gone are the days of my flashy color tops and dresses.
My husband got himself a Macy’s Card when we first shopped together there. He was able to get an additional 20% off from our purchases for that day.
The nearest JCPenney at our house is inside the local mall and the choices are limited. You see, in the Philippines, malls are humongous and are almost always crowded so shopping here was different to say the least.
I like shopping at Kohl’s. Our local Kohl’s may not be as big as our Macy’s but I like their rewards program, the Kohl’s Cash.
I haven’t bought anything from Gap before so this was a first. Gap products are a lot more expensive in the Philippines.
That’s it, so far, and hopefully not the last, lol.😂😅
But to end this post in a nice note, I’ll show you something that I purchased from Fort McHenry.
I have a sensitive skin and it has gotten more sensitive when I arrived here in the US, most probably because my skin is adjusting to the weather, food and everything else in between.
Last Sunday, I woke up looking up like this.
This is not the face you put on instagram and hashtag #IWokeUpLikeThis.
This is the face you don’t want to see in the mirror first thing in the morning.
This is NOT what you want to look like two days before your state ID picture-taking.
So I sent this photo to my husband and this was his reaction and my reply to his reaction.
But thanks to a combination of every beauty products that work for me, I was back to normal within 24 hours.
So what’s my secret? An equal dollop of all of the products below.
As you may noticed, the Aquaphor and the Aveeno Hydrocortisone are almost empty (while writing this post, I am texting my husband to pass by Walmart or Target) because unfortunately, last Sunday was not the only worstface day for me lately. On the other hand, I only use the Aveeno sunscreen when I go out of the house.
I only use the Aveeno hydrocortisone if my face is red and itchy. I also add another step if I will go out of the house. I blot my face first with a single ply of a facial tissue (as what I’ve learned from Wayne Goss, the famous YouTuber), before I put on my foundation. I usually do this right after I blow dry my hair so my “concoction” will be absorbed by my skin thoroughly and the excess will simply be removed by the tissue. Remember, just pat your face with the tissue ever so gently and don’t rub it.
So far, this works for me.
I hope to read some of your original beauty concoction too.
I always like trying natural products. My skin is very sensitive so if I can, I try to stay away from products with too much harmful chemicals.
Back in the Philippines, I’ve been an avid fan of Human Nature. Their products are natural and cruelty-free. So I’m glad that I can still purchase their products here in the US by simply going to their website.
I love lipstick! It is my favorite make-up. It instantly brightens my mood. It is the difference between me looking like a zombie versus looking like a lady.👻💀
I don’t have as much as others but I want them all to look organized. I have enough lipsticks to make me wear a different lipstick each day in a month, which I try to do.
I went to Amazon to look for a lipstick organizer. Woah! Cheap and free shipping! Hold your horses!
I ordered this last April 17 and I was surprised with the expected delivery date.
Oh well, free shipping and for $3.73 only! Beggars can’t be choosers. So I ordered two.
But lo and behold, I got them after 10 days.
Even if it arrived slightly broken, overall I’m satisfied with the organizers. First, they are cheap. For $3.73 each, that’s a steal! Second, free shipping, boom! Third, they arrived earlier than expected. And last, almost all of my lipsticks can fit in there.
